Kuwentong May Kuwenta is a reading and financial literacy project of iLab ARAL, Inc., funded and implemented in partnership with the CamSur Multi-Purpose Cooperative and with the technical assistance of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas – South Luzon Regional Office.

At its heart, the initiative is about giving LIFE—Literacy Improvement and Financial Empowerment—to communities, creating stories that inspire learning, responsibility, and hope for a brighter, more financially literate future.

Launched in celebration of the 10th year of the KUWARTA Program and in support of the Kurit Gurit youth art initiative, the project empowers young writers and illustrators from within and beyond the Bicol Region to share their voices and imagination. Through guidance and mentorship, participants create and publish creative stories for children and youth in print, digital, and mixed media formats that foster wise money habits, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for reading. These storybooks will be integrated into the literacy programs of various schools in Camarines Sur, aligning with the Department of Education’s ARAL initiative. By combining the joys of reading with practical life lessons, the project aims to shape children and youth who are money-savvy readers.
