Facts Patrol is iLab ARAL's initiative designed to build a truth-driven, digitally literate Bicolano community by combating the spread of misinformation through media and information literacy (MIL). At its core, Facts Patrol empowers individuals—especially youth—with the tools and critical thinking skills necessary to assess the credibility of online information before accepting or sharing it. Recognizing the growing threat of fake news and disinformation in the digital age, the initiative seeks to create a grassroots movement of informed citizens who are capable of verifying facts and resisting manipulation online. The project is supported by a dynamic team that includes educators, youth leaders, and digital literacy advocates such as Marinel Dugan, Pearly Esperida, and iLab ARAL founder James Earn Esperida. It also benefits from partnerships with reputable organizations like the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, YSEALI, DW Akademie, Rappler, FactsFirstPH, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
